In association with UC Davis VMTH Department of Equine Reproduction and Farm veterinarian Dr. Philip Bellamy, DVM, Branscomb Farm offers the following during breeding season to approved clients only:

  • AI (fresh and frozen) Insemenation, breeding exams, and other reproductive care for client mares boarded at the farm with the intention of breeding
  • Embryo Transfer services for both locally transferred donor/recipients and shipped embryos (only when VMTH Therio is in residence) 
  • Foaling services with FoalAlert monitoring and expert early life care and handling for newborn foals
  • Field boarding and appropriate socialization and health care for foals, weanlings, and unstarted youngsters up to 4 years of age
  • Ground training, starting, and under-saddle development of Farm-raised youngsters 2-5 years of age
  • Stallion boarding, training, collection, shipping and other reproduction-related management (ask about on farm freezing options)on a limited availability basis

Branscomb Farm equine repro facilities are available ONLY to Farm resident boarders and include:

  • Stallion collection station with teaser walls and appropriate adjustable phantom
  • Palp Chute
  • Breeding laboratory with appropriate equipment for repro services provided by the Farm or VMTH on site
  • Frozen Semen storage dewars
  • Foaling barn with 12x24 and 12x 18 stalls

In 2025, we are very fortunate to have phD candidate and clinical expert Dr. Soledad Martin-Pelaez DVM dACT in residence at the Farm for the breeding season providing therio services to the farm horses and our breeding clients courtesy of the University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.
